On March 21st, the 2018 Global Technology Finance (China-Shenzhen) Summit, organized by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and the Department of Corporate Development and International Trade of Massachusetts, was held in Nanshan District, Shenzhen. Eric Maskin, the Nobel Prize winner in economics, attended the summit. Maskin said at the conference: “Some applications of blockchain technology are great. It really changed our lives. Anonymity is a new step in our new era. It hasn’t been done in the past few hundred years.” In addition, Eric Maskin pointed out that it is impossible for large-scale circulation and the government is difficult to supervise, which is the two major reasons for his opposition to the encryption of digital currency.
