PayPal CEO: BTC is not eligible to become a currency accepted by retailers due to its volatility

According to an interview with The Street, PayPal CEO Dan Schulman questioned the potential of BTC as a legal means of payment. Schulman said: “I think that the volatility of several BTCs makes them practically unsuitable for the actual currency that retailers can accept, and the current fluctuations are more frequent than before. The reason is that retailers’ profit margins are very narrow, in case of BTC. Fluctuations of up and down 15% in a few weeks, which may just offset the difference between the profit and loss of each sale.”
